Francois Pienaar is a former South African rugby player and captain, famous for leading the Springboks to victory in the 1995 Rugby World Cup. He played as a flanker, earning 29 caps for South Africa from 1993 to 1996. Pienaar’s leadership and the iconic image of him receiving the trophy from Nelson Mandela have made him a symbol of unity and reconciliation in South Africa.
