About Rob Green

Rob Green is a former England international goalkeeper whose career spanned two decades at the very highest level of English football. Having played across the Premier League and English Football League, he earned a reputation as one of the game’s most reliable and respected shot-stoppers before moving seamlessly into a successful broadcasting career following his retirement.

Green began his professional journey with Norwich City, making his senior debut in 1999 before establishing himself as one of the Football League’s standout goalkeepers. In 2006, he secured a move to West Ham United, where his performances quickly made him a fan favourite. He was named Hammer of the Year in 2008 and later helped guide the club back to the Premier League with promotion in 2012.

Following his spell at West Ham, Green joined Queens Park Rangers and achieved another promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs. He later represented Leeds United before finishing his playing career at Chelsea, retiring from professional football in 2019. Across his career, he made more than 250 Premier League appearances and also represented England on the international stage, featuring in the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad and UEFA Euro 2012.

Since hanging up his gloves, Green has become one of football broadcasting’s most recognisable and trusted voices. He regularly works as a match analyst and co-commentator across some of the sport’s biggest platforms, including Channel 4’s England coverage, BBC Radio 5 Live, Sky Sports and Amazon Prime Video. In 2025, he was part of DAZN’s commentary team for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

Internationally, Green is also a prominent figure in American football coverage, working extensively with CBS Sports on UEFA Champions League broadcasts. He additionally joined FOX Sports’ team in Germany as lead co-commentator for UEFA Euro 2024 coverage.
